Furniture and fortitude:

How the owner of AU Furnitech crafted success

AU Furnitech’s leap into furniture manufacturing hit a rough patch with technology setbacks, but the introduction of CABINET VISION and guidance brought a  breakthrough.

transition

Transitioning from interior design to furniture manufacturing brought a steep  learning curve for AU Furnitech. As part of its expansion efforts, the company  implemented software systems to optimise its operations. But instead of  improving productivity, the technology delivered more setbacks than solutions.
“We would stay late, trying to fix problems,” the owner recalled. “The software only made us work longer without improving anything.” The company’s growing pains were compounded by recurring equipment failures, quality issues and declining
staff morale, raising questions about whether it could survive the pressures of scaling.

A TURNING POINT

AU Furnitech’s turning point came with the introduction of CABINET VISION, a manufacturing software solution accessed through Smart Connected Solutions South East Asia (SCSSEA). Alongside the tool itself came critical guidance, with consultants helping reconfigure the company’s production system from the ground up.

SCSSEA consultants worked closely with the team, helping the business move away from manual processes and trial-and-error practices. The software provided structure and clarity, which ensured production could now be planned with accuracy. Errors declined sharply, and machine efficiency improved across the board.

“Everything became easier,” the owner shared. “For the first time, we could produce with speed, accuracy, and minimum waste. It wasn’t just about making furniture anymore; it was about making the right decisions, controlling our costs, and having the freedom to grow without fear of failure.

BALANCING WORK AND WELLBEING

The operational improvements at AU Furnitech brought tangible changes to everyday routines. Employees, once accustomed to working late nights to
fix production errors, were now able to leave on time. Smoother processes also meant fewer disruptions, and deliveries became more manageable.
For the owner, the shift was deeply personal.

“For years, I was buried in problems. But now, I can focus on my business without sacrificing my personal life. I finally have time for my family. I can even take a weekend off without worrying about production chaos,” he said.

Early efforts to expand left AU Furnitech caught between ambition and inefficiency. With the adoption of CABINET VISION and hands-on support to rebuild its processes, the company has reached a more stable footing. What was once a cycle of delays and disruptions has been replaced by routines that allow for stability and focus, both professionally and personally.
